Seki is one of the famous knife production areas in Japan.
Many swordsmiths have gathered in this area because of the ideal materials such as high quality charcoal needed for sword making, soil used for burning swords, rich water and so on.
In the Kamakura era about 600 years ago, more than 300 swordsmiths gathered and competed forging technology.
Among them, the famous swordsmith is Magoroku. He was durable in a special way, made a sharp sword and many samurai used it, so he became known throughout Japan.
Seki's blacksmith inherits its excellent forging technology and produces a knife.
